Drums Series: Contemporary Lighting Design

Lightscape Chicago: Winona Lighting and Traxon Collaborate on Custom LED Light and Sound Installation
Light dances along the streets of Chicago from Van Buren to Lake Street engaging onlookers in a stimulating light experience. Lightscape, part of the Chicago Loop Alliance, will be a five yearlong custom LED lighting display designed to celebrate Chicago’s historic State Street. Winona Lighting was selected to manufacture the custom reed shaped housing, integrating Traxon’s XB color changing LEDs that pulsate in synchronization with seasonal-themed music. September 11, 2011 marked the ten year anniversary of the attack on the World Trade Center Towers, the Pentagon and Shanksville, Pa. For the first time in ten years, the general public has returned to the World Trade Center site, a day after the 9/11 Memorial had a dedicated opening for victims’ families on the anniversary. The 9/11 Memorial consists of two enormous reflecting pools set within the original footprints of the fallen towers.
